Most AI prospecting tools find you more people. Few of them tell you which ten to contact this morning, and why now.
That second question is where prospecting time goes. A list of 2,000 matching titles is not a plan; ten people who just changed jobs, with a reason to write, is.
This guide compares the best AI prospecting tools in 2026, and shows a workflow we tested that writes that short list every day from real buying signals.
30-Second Summary
- An AI prospecting tool finds, researches or ranks prospects for you; where its contact data comes from matters as much as its AI.
- We compare seven options: Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo Copilot, Amplemarket, Salesforce Agentforce, Artisan, and your own AI Agent with the Evaboot MCP.
- Our AI prospecting brief turns two Sales Navigator signal searches (changed jobs, posted on LinkedIn) into ten people to contact today, with why now and one next step.
- In our test, 30 exported leads gave 26 new people: 4 were found by both searches, 10 made the brief and 4 were judged not a fit, each with a reason.
- A daily recurring export returns only the people who are new to each search, so nobody is judged or paid for twice.
You can run the brief from an AI Agent in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, or from n8n into a Google Sheet.
We ran both on real Sales Navigator searches. Copy the workflow below, or follow the same method with your own tools.
We will walk you through the process step by step.
Everything is in one public GitHub repo: the skill, the signals file, a small helper script and the n8n workflow. Paste the prompt into your AI Agent, or pick the n8n tab to run it from a schedule.
Let your AI agent set it up
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. Your agent clones the public repo, follows its instructions and asks before every change.
Clone https://github.com/evaboot-labs/ai-prospecting-brief, read AGENTS.md and follow the skill. Set up my daily prospecting brief: ask me who I sell to, build the signal searches, and show me the counts before you export anything.
In the repo
- The ai-prospecting-brief skill: signal searches, daily export, judge, brief
- brief.py: merges and scores the signals, checks the verdicts, renders the brief
- SIGNALS.md: who you sell to, the signals, and the brief rules
- The n8n workflow, with its setup guide
Set it up in n8n
Paste this prompt into your AI agent and it walks you through the import, one step at a time. Or open the workflow JSON on GitHub and import it yourself.
Set up the AI prospecting brief workflow in my n8n. Clone https://github.com/evaboot-labs/ai-prospecting-brief and follow docs/n8n.md. Walk me through the Google Sheet, importing n8n/ai-prospecting-brief.json, the Anthropic and Google Sheets credentials, and the Evaboot webhook destinations, one step at a time.
In the repo
- The workflow JSON: Evaboot runs in by webhook, the brief out every weekday at 8
- docs/n8n.md: the sheet, the two credentials and the settings, step by step
- The same scoring and checks as the script
We used Sales Navigator and Claude in our example, but with a few tweaks, the same method works with another model.

What Is an AI Prospecting Tool?
An AI prospecting tool does part of the prospecting work with a model: finding people who match your buyer, researching them, ranking them by buying signals, or writing the first message.
The label covers very different products, from a database with an AI search box to an agent that sends emails on its own:
What separates them is who does which part of the work:
| AI does well | A data source does | You still do |
|---|---|---|
| Turning your buyer into a search | Knowing who holds the job today | Choosing who is worth a conversation |
| Reading signals and ranking people | Giving company size, growth and headline | The outreach itself |
| Writing a reason and a first line | Finding and verifying the email | Handling the reply |
So judge a tool on two things: what its AI actually does, and where its contacts come from.
The Best AI Prospecting Tools in 2026
Seven options cover the main ways to prospect with AI today. Six are products you buy; the seventh is the workflow we built and tested in this guide.
Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked in October 2026. Three of the seven publish no price.
Clay
The most flexible way to enrich and research a list: a spreadsheet where every column can call a data provider or an AI research agent.
Clay is a data and workflow platform for go-to-market teams. You load a list, then add columns that look up data or ask its AI agent, Claygent, to research each row on the web.
Contact data comes from a waterfall of more than 150 providers: if the first one has no email, Clay asks the next.
Features
- Claygent: an AI agent that researches each row on the web and returns a custom data point
- Waterfall enrichment: 150+ data providers on every plan, including the free one
- Bring your own keys: use your own provider accounts inside Clay
- Free plan: 500 actions and 100 data credits a month
Pros
- Almost any research question becomes a column
- No single data vendor to depend on
Cons
- A builder's tool: someone has to design and maintain the tables
- Credits run out fast on large lists
Apollo.io
The cheapest way to start: a large contact database, sequences and AI assistants in one place, with a free plan and no card required.
Apollo is a contact database with sequences and AI built in. It now presents itself as an agentic go-to-market system that also works inside Claude and ChatGPT.
You search Apollo's own database, enrich and score the results, and send sequences from the same account.
Features
- AI assistant and agents: research, list building and writing inside Apollo
- Works in your AI tools: Apollo, Claude and ChatGPT, according to its homepage
- Database plus sequences: find, enrich and email from one account
- Free plan: no credit card required
Pros
- Free to start, with team-wide credits
- Everything from search to sending in one tool
Cons
- A database is only as fresh as its last update
- Paid prices were not visible on the pricing page we read
ZoomInfo Copilot
The deepest account-level signals: Copilot ranks your accounts by fit and intent and hands reps talking points, at an enterprise price.
ZoomInfo Copilot is the AI layer on top of ZoomInfo's database. It ranks accounts by buyer signals, gives each a fit score and intent, and writes talking points for the rep.
ZoomInfo claims more than 300 million contacts, sourced and verified by ZoomInfo.
Features
- Account ranking: fit score and intent signals in one list
- AI talking points: a reason to reach out for each account
- Verified decision makers: the people to contact inside each account
- GTM Workspace: a separate product for account executives and deals
Pros
- Strong intent data for account-based selling
- One vendor for data, signals and AI
Cons
- No public price: every plan goes through sales
- Account heat does not tell you which person is ready
Amplemarket
The strongest choice when timing matters: Duo watches buying signals, writes the outreach and queues the next action for your reps.
Amplemarket is an all-in-one sales platform built around its Duo AI. Duo detects buying signals, researches the prospect and drafts the outreach.
The data comes from Amplemarket's own B2B database, which it says includes 200 million verified mobile numbers.
Features
- Duo Signals: detects buying intent on people and accounts
- Duo Copywriter: drafts first messages and replies
- AI Agents: research prospects and personalize outreach
- Multichannel: email, phone and social steps in one sequence
Pros
- Built around signals, not static lists
- Research, writing and sending in one place
Cons
- The entry plan starts at $600 a month on an annual term
- Growth and Elite plans are custom priced
Salesforce Agentforce
The natural pick if your team already runs on Salesforce: its prospecting agent ranks, researches and drafts from the data your CRM already holds.
Agentforce is Salesforce's family of AI agents. The sales agent ranks prospects, researches them, drafts outreach, answers inbound leads and books meetings.
It works on your own Salesforce data, plus intent, enrichment and third-party sources.
Features
- Prospecting agent: ranks and researches prospects inside Salesforce
- Outreach drafts: writes first messages for reps to send or approve
- Inbound handling: answers new leads and books meetings
- CRM-native: no data to sync to another tool
Pros
- No new tool for reps to learn
- Uses the history your CRM already has
Cons
- Only makes sense on Salesforce
- No separate price for the prospecting agent itself
Artisan (Ava)
The most hands-off option: Ava finds leads, writes, sends, answers and books, but you only learn the price after a demo.
Artisan sells Ava as an AI BDR. Ava finds leads, writes and sends the outreach, handles replies and books meetings.
Ava pulls from a database of more than 250 million verified contacts. Pricing is credit-based and not published.
Features
- Lead discovery: builds lists from Artisan's own database
- Autonomous outreach: writes and sends messages
- Replies and meetings: answers prospects and books calls
Pros
- Covers the full cycle on its own
- Little setup for the team
Cons
- No public pricing
- You hand over the sending, so check its first messages closely
Your AI Agent + Evaboot MCP
The option we built and tested: your own AI Agent reads LinkedIn's live data through the Evaboot MCP and writes a short daily brief, while you keep the outreach.
The Evaboot MCP server lets an AI Agent such as Claude work in Sales Navigator: build a search, preview it for free, and export the people with verified emails.
Our AI prospecting brief uses it to run two signal searches every day, and lets the agent judge who to contact. The rest of this guide shows how.
Features
- Live LinkedIn data: Sales Navigator, the most current record of who holds which job
- Signal searches: people who changed jobs or posted, filtered on your buyers
- Daily recurring export: only the people new to each search, with verified emails
- A brief, not a list: ten people, why now and one next step
Pros
- You pay only for new people, never twice for the same one
- The judging rules live in a file you can read and change
Cons
- Needs a Sales Navigator seat and an AI Agent
- It does not send anything: you do the outreach
Here are the seven side by side:
| Tool | What its AI does | Contact data | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clay | Researches each row, enriches by waterfall | 150+ providers | Free; $185/mo |
| Apollo.io | Assistant and agents for search and writing | Own database | Free; paid not shown |
| ZoomInfo Copilot | Ranks accounts by fit and intent | Own database | Contact sales |
| Amplemarket | Signals, research and drafts | Own database | $600/mo, annual |
| Agentforce | Ranks, researches, drafts in Salesforce | Your CRM plus sources | $125/user/mo |
| Artisan | Finds, writes, sends and books | Own database | Demo only |
| Your AI Agent + Evaboot | Judges signals, writes a daily brief | Sales Navigator | 1 credit per lead |
If you want current LinkedIn data and a short daily list you act on yourself, the next section shows how to build it.
How to Use AI for Sales Prospecting: a Daily Brief
Our AI prospecting brief turns two Sales Navigator signal searches into ten people to contact today, in six steps.
The AI does the research and the ranking. You keep the decision and the outreach.
- Write Down Who You Sell To
- Build One Search per Signal
- Export Only the New People Every Day
- Merge and Score the Signals
- Let the AI Judge Each Person
- Act on the Brief Yourself
1. Write Down Who You Sell To
The agent starts by asking who you sell to, who is not a fit, and what you sell in one line. It writes the answers into SIGNALS.md.
Ours: heads, directors and VPs of RevOps, Sales Ops or GTM Ops at US B2B software companies of 51 to 500 employees. Not a fit: consultants, fractional roles and sales roles without operations in the title.
2. Build One Search per Signal
A signal is a reason to write now. We used two, each added to the same buyer search in Sales Navigator: changed jobs in the last 90 days, and posted on LinkedIn in the last 30 days.
Both are contact-level signals: they say this person is paying attention, not only that their company is in the market.
The agent builds the buyer search with Evaboot, adds the company size and industry to the URL, then adds one signal filter per search. The previews are free.
3. Export Only the New People Every Day
A daily recurring export repeats each search and returns only the people who are new to it. You pay 1 credit per new person, never twice for the same one.
Send each run to your sheet, CRM or n8n, and fresh buyers arrive every morning: that is what we call IBAO (Intent Based Automated Outreach).
4. Merge and Score the Signals
brief.py facts merges the exports into one row per person. Someone found by both searches outranks someone found by one.
Their own data adds points: under 3 months in the role, company growth of 30% or more in a year, a verified email. In our test, 30 exported leads gave 26 new people, 4 of them found by both searches.
5. Let the AI Judge Each Person
The agent reads each person's title, company, growth, headline and signals, and decides fit or not, why now, and one next step: email, LinkedIn, call or watch.
brief.py check rejects a weak verdict: no reason, a reason over 30 words, a missing action, or an email step without a verified email.
6. Act on the Brief Yourself
The brief lists ten people, best signals first, with the reason to write today and what to do. Below them, the people judged not a fit, with why:
The AI never contacts anyone. It does the research a rep would do before writing, and the rep keeps the conversation:
How to Run Your Prospecting Brief in n8n
n8n runs the same brief without an AI Agent session. Evaboot sends each daily run to a webhook, one per signal, and the rows land in a Signals tab.
Every weekday at 8, the workflow merges and scores the new people, lets Claude judge them, checks and ranks the verdicts, and writes the brief into a Brief tab:
People already in a brief, fits and not fits alike, are never judged again. In our test, a second run the same day judged only the 12 people left, with no repeat.
Example: One Morning's Brief
Here is what each step returned for RevOps leaders at US B2B software companies of 51 to 500 people:
| Step | Result |
|---|---|
| Changed jobs export | 15 people, 13 emails |
| Posted on LinkedIn export | 15 people, 14 emails |
| After the merge | 26 new people, 4 found by both searches |
| Judged by the AI | 16, the top of the list plus a margin |
| In the brief | 10: 7 by email, 3 by LinkedIn first |
| Not a fit | 4: a company under 51 people, a 2-to-10-person startup, a sales role, a consulting agency |
| Credits | 30, one per exported lead |
The top person had five signals at once: a new job one month ago, a company that doubled in a year, a recent post and a verified email.
Common AI Prospecting Mistakes
Four mistakes cause most wasted AI prospecting budgets:
- Buying a Tool Before Naming the Problem
- Treating Account Heat as Contact Readiness
- Letting the AI Send Without a Check
- Paying Again for the Same People
All four are fixed before the first email.
1. Buying a Tool Before Naming the Problem
Not enough leads, no buying signals and no replies are three different problems, and each needs a different tool:
2. Treating Account Heat as Contact Readiness
An account that reads about your category is not a person ready to talk. Look for signals on the person: a new role, a recent post.
3. Letting the AI Send Without a Check
A model writes plausible lines that can be wrong. Read its reason before you use it, and keep the send yourself or behind an approval.
4. Paying Again for the Same People
Re-running the same export pays for the same people every day. A recurring export, and a list of who was already shown, keep only the new ones.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI prospecting tool?
The one that fixes where your prospecting breaks. Clay is the most flexible for enrichment, Apollo the cheapest way to start, ZoomInfo and Amplemarket the strongest on buying signals, and Agentforce the natural pick inside Salesforce.
If you want current LinkedIn data and a short daily list, connect your own AI Agent to Sales Navigator through Evaboot.
Which AI is best for prospecting?
An AI connected to live data. A chat assistant on its own answers from memory, so its names are out of date or invented.
Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor connected to Sales Navigator through an MCP server can search, read signals and judge who fits today.
How do you use AI for sales prospecting?
Let the AI do the research and the ranking, and keep the outreach for yourself.
Run one search per buying signal, export only the new people each day, let the AI judge who fits and why now, and act on the short list it gives you.
What are the 5 Ps of prospecting?
There is no single standard list. The most common one for prospecting is Purpose, Preparation, Personalization, Perseverance and Practice.
A general selling version is Prospect, Prepare, Present, Persuade and Persist.
Is AI replacing sales reps?
Not the part that sells. AI already does the list building, the research and the first draft, and AI SDR tools can run simple outreach on their own.
People still decide who is worth a conversation, handle objections and close.
